Choosing the Right Affiliate Program/Product...

Just some thoughts I wanted to share in choosing the right affiliate program

When you research on what affiliate programs to go for, always take into consideration the market you are targeting - as they are the ones who will make the conversion on your site. Also, always try to pick one that you you have knowledge on. Providing more than the product itself is a big plus - useful info, good advice and post sale customer support will give you more customers via referrals.

After that, it would also depend on how you market your product to the right market. This is also a factor to be greatly considered in determining your success. IMO, when you want to earn big, you should be ready to spend for it as well.

I always opt for PayPerClick to reach my target audience. Knowing how this system works would work to your advantage. Research (keywords), Selection(keywords and PPC provider), Implementation (bidding and start-up) and Analysis (which keywords worked best and cost vs. revenue).

Also choose only those programs which are free from bad reputations and reviews. There are many scam programs available. So beware of that when joining with other sites.

How the good programmes can be selected. It should be time tested. If we are signing up for a programme and working for few months, then only we will come to know about that 'Great Company'. Otherwise some body those who are experienced should tell.In my case a good survey company which were good at starting, now not sending surveys. So I cannot reach the target. In the starting I felt that this is a good programme. I am giving a lot of publicity also to get referrals. But now I am feeling sorry. My small baby told me: "papa leave all these things. You have to pay for the 'internet srvice provider' and you are not going to get any thing".

There are several ways to select good and trusted sites:

Check the page rank of sites on Google. You can check this by installing Google toolbar.

Another way is to go through the ranks of the sites. There are several sites available which provides site ranking. The best two ranking sites are: alexa.com and complete.com.

Check for reviews about the site before joining on the programs. Thats helps you to avoid cheats and scams.

Also use only auxiliary passwords on non popular sites (use secondary passwords on every affiliate sites). Otherwise there is big chance of hacking your sites and mail accounts.

The best way to choose thre trusted affiliate is by searching the reviews about that site in some big forums or communities. I think you are relying on Awsurveys. Ok thats good,no doubt,as they have already paid me 3 times with a total of 150$ in 2 months. Im happy working for that site,but i dont know why the reviews of that site is so bad. I think,im the only lucky kid,who has got paid from it. LOL!!
And you can also try Commission junction as that site is a very trusted and genuine one for Affiliate marketing..

That site is clearly not for Surveys. Actually I don't understand their actual aim. They are giving money only for referring members. The site doesn't have any genuine surveys.

Ya tht website is not actually for surveys,i guess. It just needs a heavy popularity in a very short time and it has got it also. It just pays for having some genuine referrals only. But even if it s not like a perfect survey site,i enjoy working with it,as i have succeeded with it for 3 times already.. lets see,what happens in the future...

Any way I am waiting few more time expecting that things may come on the right track. Perhaps this idleness may be due to some temporary problems.

I guess they are trying to make large amount of account informations by spending a fixed amount of money. After getting a good amount of money, they will sell the account details to spammers in huge money, or they try to give the site to good genuine survey sites in exchange of large amount of money.

Ivenms made very good points! The reputation of the affiliate programs you would join is a very important aspect to be considered.

The best way to choose Affiliate Program is to see the rates. There are some programs which offer money for free without earning by the clicks. The PTC, PTR sites are scammers when their Ad rate exceeds the Affiliate Payout rate. but even everything is equalized, they are not scammers. It is better to search for the Scam affiliate programs on the Google.
