i work at the busiest gas station in my state.....and people always seem to think we're a walking road map!
I find it funny, how people can go on a driving excursion and not get directions before they leave!
I don't know how it is where you live, but here and in most states i've noticed that there are 3 types of highways
one that intersects the state going east and west, one that intersects the state going north and south and then one(s) that circles a major city!
keeping this in mind....
I had a lady come into work one day and as honest as she could be asked me for directions....
lady: I was told to get onto 465 and take it to 65...
me: ok
lady: but i don't know what happened? *a bit hysterical voice* one minute i'm on 465 South next thing I know i'm going west, then i'm on 465 north, then i'm going east...I just feel like i'm going in circles!!!!
me: yeah it'll do that to you.....
by this point customers that overheard this start busting up laughing, and the lady is being sincere....
it took a lot not to laugh and then carefully try to explain to her that yes 465 is nothing more then a big circle and she's now been driving on it for 3 hours going around and around....and what's worse is that she's now at the top of the circle and needs to go back to the bottom....
or my favorite is people looking for greenwood or locations that are near greenwood
as mentioned above 465 is a big circle, my store is off of US31 (it runs north and south, it's the divider of Indianapolis' east and west)
my store is basically at the very top center of 456.....greenwood is basically at the very bottom center of 465
and yet people that live here, still seems to get very confused when they are told to take 465 to 31 south
and then want to argue with me when i tell them that they need to get back onto 465 and go all the way around down to the bottom....
"well couldn't I just take 31 on the way south?"
me: yes you could, but then you'd have to deal with downtown traffic and a stop light at every block, whereas you could take the highway and be there in the same amount of time or sooner......
or well then you just have the people that want to argue.....they don't know where they are, they don't know how to get where they need to be....but some one somewhere told them that they had to find such and such street/highway to get to such and such!
But then when we at work give them the way that we know how to get there, or a better/faster way to get to where they are going, they'd rather argue that they have to take this path that they were told to take else they can't get there any other way.....
well then don't ask me for directions if you don't want my answer.....
Haha, stupid people are all over around the world! Lol!
It's not that bad when you have to face people that do not know stuff but when you have to deal with people that are stupid can often be very funny.
Is it that hard to use a map?
