RE: How to edit templates?

Which one's template?

I mean which script?

All templates are formatted in HTML tags. Just need the knowledge of HTML for a simple template edit.

For a script, there have its own option.

RE: How to edit templates?

Which templates exactly? anyway
if its a flash template:
You should look for the psd and the .fla files
psd files are opened in photoshop so you can edit all the graphics and pupblish them once again.
fla files are opened in macromedia flash, that lets you change the picutres and the text and everything, its really simple, just try opening one in flash and u'll get it

RE: How to edit templates?

i'm assuming you just mean a general website template...you can use any text editing program...like msword, notepad...
or if you have an ftp program edit the files within the ftp...
all you need to know is a bit of html and then trial and error....
and you can use any paint program to alter images or colors to better suit your needs....

RE: How to edit templates?

thats so hard, if its just a regular template its much easier:
use frontpage or dreamwearver or any thing like that but i recommend frontpage
just open the html files in frontpage and work as if you where in MS word, edit the text, the locations and everything, the pictures you need an editor to do it ofcourse, you can even add your own codes to it.

RE: How to edit templates?

But using editors like that you mentioned will only increase the errors on the page and the page size.

If you are very good with HTML and programs, use only text editors. Iam now only using text editors for any thing related with web sites. That helps me to avoid errors and understand the page structure in depth.

You can say that they are not providing errors. But they surely increase the size of the page. If you want to make your pages Search Engine Optimized, then it is better to depend on coding simply for your pages. That helps you to clear every minute errors from the page.

RE: How to edit templates?

it depends on what you are editing, i've heard a lot of people complain about dreamweaver when they go to save their work it screws with the coding a bit....so then their site is messed up and they don't know why at first....

and i'm assuming that most of the scripts i get off the net people use an editor and you'll see that it has a lot of unneeded spaces and returns, which all take up room...
example:

Code:
bla   bla

bla   bla            bla

i like to keep mine all nice and neet

Code:
bla bla
bla bla bla

by doing this to all my files i've been able to cut the original file sizes down to over half the size they were....pretty funny how all those extra spaces and returns can really add up to a file size....

RE: How to edit templates?

Certain tab rules are necessary for project coding.

Project codes are made with tab rules to minimize errors and also to give better understanding of the code on next visit.

The size is not a problem when dealing with the error minimization techniques.

RE: How to edit templates?

and tab rules don't increase the size dramatically so that it can't be considered a problem
