RE: How to Parse PHP on HTML Files?

If you don't add PHP code then .php files do not have any differences from .html ones. I suggest you using the .php extension, it will save you from a lot of trouble/time.

If you want it so badly though, you can use mod_rewrite for Apache. You can set the web server to show .php pages as .html ones, also pass GET commands like they were directories. I have never tried it, so I cannot guide you here.

I wonder if it can be done from within the Apache configuration file. In there you set what extensions to parse as PHP, maybe if you just put also .html and .htm will do the job? Rolleyes

You can see the implementation of that rewriting on: http://webmasters-forum.info/archive/index.php

Those pages are actuall dynamic pages. But they are configured such that to see as html pages.

That is new thing to me. So can I run PHP codes on HTML files?

What is the use of .htaccess files on PHP programming?
