My site not viewing Correctly,Need Help

Hi guys,
I need some help with my site,I made it in photoshopÂ? Â? and made slices in image ready with roll over affect. but did not make it with CSS.
What is happening is that when people view it on 1024x768 resolution it sits to the left and is slow to load up.
I was told about making it liquid with precentages,but I know Jack sh-t about CSS. I have been on w3schools I've used it a lot with html but not much detail with css about resolutions or page sizes or what ever.
love some assistance if someone has time please,thanks,
I will change design if have to.
Mark.....

RE: My site not viewing Correctly,Need Help

I had the same exact problem with my site when I uploaded it for the first time. Everything looked ok on my computer, however, when my family pulled it up on a laptop or any other resolution other than the one I created it in it was sitting on the left hand side of the screen. I am not sure about all of the technical language you are speaking in but I do know how I fixed mine. If you go into the html and enter <center> right behind <body> it should fix the majority of the problem. I created my website in FrontPage and if you do as well when you enter <center> automatically </center> may fill in behind the first <center> (ex - <center></center>. You will want to erase the </center>. You may need to go back and fix a few other things but this is what ultimately corrected my problem. Here is an example:? ?

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<title>New Page 7</title>
</head>

<body><center>

</body>

Good Luck,

Ashley

Different browsers give different views for the html tags. Thats why now every one preffering css styles for html pages.

Many of the high rated sites are now converting to css styled pages.

So it is better to make the pages with the help of css styles.

RE: My site not viewing Correctly,Need Help

If u just want it to be the same size but not on the left, add a center tag.
if you want to liquid it, you dont have to use css.
I dont know if i will be able to explain good.. here it goes
lets say you have a topbanner that has a blank spot in the middle of it, devide it into 3 parts with the blank area as one of them, use absolute sizing for the other 2 parts but let the middle one grow as it wishes. Put all of that into a table and define the size as 100%

any problem I will be glad to help

RE: My site not viewing Correctly,Need Help

bojomojo, I am using the exact technique for this site.

The logo image is divided into three parts and expands with the window size.

From where you got this idea?
I just made it without referring any place.
