Here I am trying to reveal the secrets behind the making of optimized title and metatags for your web pages. Try to go through the following steps carefully to get better position for your pages on search engines.
Do not overlook the importance of good meta tags. Regardless of what you read, they can be critical, especially the title tag and the description tag. Even the keyword tag can help you get better listings in directories.
Choose the content of the title meta tag carefully. Generally, it is thought to be best to limit your title to 7 words. One of the words (or phrases) should be your best keyword or key phrase. Do not use all capital letters. Do not try to "stuff" the title with several keywords. Pick one or two.
The description meta tag should describe the site simply and make it sound interesting. Give the searcher a good reason to go to your site intead of the others listed in his/her search results. For our hypothetical hot sauce and salsa site, a good description tag might say, "Brian's Hot Sauce and Salsa is the choice of more families and more Mexican restaurants in Denver than any other brand. Learn what makes our hot sauce and salsa the choice of knowledgeable families and leading chefs". Write more than two sentences only if necessary.
The keyword meta tag should contain the words/phrases searchers are most likely to use when looking for a website like yours. And, remember that your best keywords should appear in the body of your website.
If you discover that there are relevant, popular keywords that do not appear in the body of your website, consider doing some re-writing. It will be well worth the time and effort.
Despite what some so-called gurus tell you, meta tags are important. They can make a very big difference in your search engine rankings.
Iam hopping that this tutorial will surely help you to make your site on top positions on search results. You can also share your thoughts on here for free...
