Steps To install Chipmunk Forum

Follow the steps given below to install the simple Chipmunk Forum:

• Download the forum script by clicking here.
• Unzip the board.zip package to your local folder.
• After unzipping the package, Open install.php in notepad, copy and paste the sql structure into phpmyadmin or sqladmin to create the tables for the forum.
• Open connect.php and admin/connect.php and put your username, password, and database name for the mysql connection.
• Open admin/var.php and edit the settings there to your liking.
• Now run admin/register.php and register yourself as a head admin name.
• Go into var and edit $boardpath and set it to your board's path.
• Delete admin/register.php and admin/reguser.php
• Now go to login.php and log in with the admin account you made. The link to the admin panel will appear at the bottom of the page.
• In the admin panel you can create categories, forums, define ranks and titles, etc.
  

Ok, kinda spamish... but... why would I install chipmunk forum?
What are his features? I assume that you know the forum format since you posted this tutorial and I would like to hear about it from someone that actually used it because .... let's just say that I trust that kind of information better than the one from their site It's more realistic

I come close with the forum for Lord_Daksh. Thus gone through their sites and the scripts. Then I found that there are not any good installation document or script related document present on the script's home site.

This forum script is useful for Wap sites since they are very simple and small pages. But still the script don't have good support community. Also the installation procedure is little difficult. Mods are not available for this script. But you can change the template of the script.

But the home site even not providing better support. The mods on mobifriends are some integrated scripts. But if you like to go with simple forum, then it is always better to select: http://punbb.org/

I know punBB and it has many problems. One of their main disadvantage is that I can delete a topic if I made it. That's a bad thing. I once went trolling on a site that had a punBB forum and one of the things I did was to start a popular forum and after I was close to ban I simply deleted the topic that already had a couple of pages. This isn't good.

Iven,i know u can do it man. Cant u help me in all such things,by which i can also add such dynamic integrated scripts? Plz bro. But i just Chipmunks script.

I have lots of projects on pending and not get enough time to get into bed. So it is better to approach with mobifrendz forum staffs.

I'M SAD! I cant ask them,as i myself is the admin of that forum,n i ask the owners for the mods,they'll b angry with me.

Mobifrendz owners are using mods of mybb and what they doing is editing mybb mods and redefine templte color into plain white

It is always better to avoid this script. This forum is useless and error pron. Use other popular free forum scripts like MyBB or PhpBB.

Very correct.. Always better to use supporting and upgrading scripts like MyBB and PHPbb. Chipmunk is generally used for Mobile forums because of its simplicity. But there are many other forum scripts that provides simple interface. PHPBB also provides wap version of forum as addon. Use it for better utilization of your forum.

I don't know much about the script and installed that script before 1 year.. I wrote every thing that I know about the forum script for its installation. Go through the steps and you will be able to install it on your web server.

at the register i got this message

Nothing...

The board is less featured. That is its feature.

The problem is with your mysql connection establishment. Follow the 4th step and onwards. Assign your mysql username, password, databasename, servername (localhost) for variables on connect.php
