As I said in another post, google is a social phenomenon, not just a simple search engine. This is why it will always be the best.
But I don't understand why did you put wikipedia in the poll. :|
It's an useful site but it's not a search engine. You will only get results form inside wikipedia.

I selected Wikipedia.

Google is the best when considering web related contents. But when we need informations, Wikipedia solves almost every matter. They now serving a great role on world education. .

But both sites, google and wikipedia are plays different role and both of them are good on their service.

I also like to see ask.com on the list since they are filled with many features.

i have to go with ivenms on this one, google, yahoo and msn are just your normal search engines, great for finding web content

whereas wiki's are more referance content...more or less a massive dictionary more resourceful when trying to find out about something inparticular

I say Google wins hands down!
With its super fast servers, its worldwide fans and the fact that anything Google touches is gold, there is no way that any search engine can beat it!!!

They index many information sites including Wikipedia !
Google has yet to fail me in the alomost 1000 times I needed it!

Am also using that site. That is useful for me instead of an English dictionary. But Wikipedia is not like that. Wiki is just like encyclopedia and it contains every (almost every) information about the universe. So wikipedia is the best knowledge providing site.

yes they contain a lot of information but as its added by their visitors it doesn't have to be true,
ofcourse it can be just good information but it can also be just a bunch of crap

It is true with me on my every searches. I'm also contributing on there. The site have good moderator team and they check the contents before publishing it. So it gives true information for almost every contents on there. Still there are greater chance to get crap information from the site.

Unless you have the bad luck of visiting a page that has been recently trolled, all of their content is genuine. You might try to edit a page's content but even if your changes take place immediately, a moderator will soon review them. If you were a bad boy and did some trolling the page will be reverted and you will be banned.
I was once warned because I added some new pages to wikipedia, pages that were, I quote, "rubbish" ) They're good!

well actually i suppose no one likes it rather. I have seen most of the people going with either google or wiki. might be they are too slow or may be provide no good results...
