Who will achieve the optimal result with what is available – as in the game of cards and the social situation at our birth. When you deal, you may receive good or bad cards – these are your resources. Whether you take the bets – how far you will go with these funds, depends on how well you manage them. It is important to think – “It will happen if …” – ie. what resources we need for success, and not as is the more common “It will not work because …”. We need to roll up our sleeves and do the best we can. (

The main goal of business is to make money in the long run, according to Elliott Goldratt in his ingenious book “The Goal, the Process of Continuous Improvement”.

At first glance, media and mass media are two completely equivalent terms, and indeed they are too often used synonymously. To some extent, this use leads to serious confusion, in which features of the more general media are attributed to the mass media, and vice versa. Such confusion, as logical as they seem in the classical mass media, in the Internet-based ones can lead to illogical results incorrectly conducted research or to the wrong structuring of scientific research. (

Media or Project Management?

We will start first with the term media. Before defining it, we need to make a very important and significant spelling clarification.

As it may have already become clear, for us the correct way to spell the word is media (we will recall that in this graphic form it is codified in the current spelling dictionary): this token in the European languages functions as a feminine noun. In our language, all tokens (be they nouns or verbs) that end in more than one vowel go through the oldest process in all Europen culture ​​- iotation (insertion of an iota to prevent “yawning”). In the past, this process took place throughout the token, no matter where the vowels congregate but at some point in its development, our language has freed itself from this – for the simple reason that within the word such changes are not having a significant impact on its functioning. In local lore, however, they are of particular importance – such a change can lead to a change in the declension type, which is determined by the ending. And although our language is gradually freeing itself from the richness of its declension system, the trend of iotation remains alive, although some limitations are registered.

In the word of interest to the media, the process concerns the fact that it is of foreign origin. The situation is similar with the nouns symphony, autopsy, agitation, periphery, iotation, television, publication, etc. And no one is arguing about them whether to write with an ending.

The many borrowings of this type are from the classical languages ​​(Greek and Latin) or from Western European languages ​​(borrowing is direct or through mediation) – all languages ​​that (except Greek) use Latin. This allows us to adjust the written form to our pronunciation when transliterating. That is why in the official transliteration policy all these words are written in Latin. The Polish language has the same problem – it says media, but it is pronounced [media].

Accordingly, in business, everything is measured by resources, money, and time.

Why study management?

You have to learn because resources are always limited. And to be good people, to be a good and successful society, we must be good managers. ( The difference is very noticeable when comparing the German way of life and that in Western Europe, North America, and some Asian countries. We often say that people there are too “hurried” and even “devoid of emotions.” The reason is that resource management is more efficient and not subject to everyday emotions.

It is important to have professional managers. Regardless of the field, because no matter what profession they practice, they inevitably have to manage what they do.

Management helps you put the things you really want above the things you want right now. ( This is what we call prioritization.

Otherwise, as my philosophy teacher used to say, “It often happens that you try all your life to climb a peak … and when you’re up there, you realize that you had to climb the next one.

Being a manager is a profession, but not a craft.

How can we manage our success and results?

By managing the reasons for the achievement (failure to achieve success) – ie. to ensure the proper state of everything that depends on us. ( I recently discussed with a good acquaintance of mine who was about to take an exam. I told him to act as a financial manager – if the way out of the situation is the result of an equation, then let him try to make all possible elements before the sign equal to constants. To this end, one imagines the path from the present moment to the moment in which one has achieved one’s goal and considers every decision one makes. Before the exam, apart from whether he has studied enough, the following are important: hungry – yes/no, thirsty yes/no, rested yes/no, other urgent needs yes/no, the possibility to be late and additional stress – yes/no, (ie. what transport will he travel with), will he arouse the sympathy of the examiner – yes/no, ie. appearance and hygiene, etc ..

Everyone knows the saying – luck loves the prepared. The thinking of managers makes us prepared.

The world needs management to prosper

We need managers in every field – from the corporate world, through start-ups and investment funds, public organizations to culture. There is a need everywhere for people who understand the importance of finance, marketing, people management, manufacturing, trade.

If we want professional results, the management of the organization should be entrusted to professional managers.

History has shown that good management can change reality for the better. One such example on a relatively large scale in the United States. The country is a giant and a good place for business as well as one of the world’s most famous and developed centers for finance, trade, logistics, and education.
